PUBLIC SAFETY FIRST

The Atlanta Police Foundation’s Public Safety First Campaign will allow us to implement a strategic plan that addresses both the short-term crime-fighting needs of the Atlanta Police Department and the systemic issues that our City must address to reduce criminal behavior. The total cost of the plan is $90 million, with $30 million funded by the City of Atlanta and $60 million funded from private philanthropy.

The surging crime in Atlanta can be attributed to several factors but reinvigorating the morale of our officers, reversing the shortfall of officers, and addressing youth crime in the neighborhoods where they live are fundamental to producing a sustainable reduction in crime.

This campaign will change the trajectory of public safety and serve our city for decades.
